How do i clean a scuba mask?

I have a scuba mask that i only use every now and then. It's been sitting up in a closet for several months now and has a film over it and the lens and the rest of the mask just looks dirty. Can you tell me what product will clean this without harming it?How do i clean a scuba mask?
I use toothpaste to clean everything on my mask. It worked for a mask that had been sitting at the bottom of a lake for years. It was completely gunked up with algae everywhere and after a good scrubbing and rinse it's fine to wear. One of my buddies uses it now since her mask is broken.

Good luck with your cleaning. How do i clean a scuba mask?
Use a non-abrasive soap, like Ivory Soap. Hand clean with a soft cloth like a chamois. Make sure all soap residue is off the mask by thoroughly rinsing it after the washing. It is probably best to not only rinse your gear after every outing, but to clean it as above, especially if the gear is used infrequently.
use toothpast to get the flim off of it then just keep it in a contairn and clean it every now and then hope that helps
