Why dose your nose have to be in a mask while scuba diving?

Two reasons:

1. To equalize the mask. Similar to the the pressure that builds in your ears when you dive deeper, the same thing happens with a mask. You need to exhale into the mask to equalize the pressure.

2. In the event that you get water in the mask, there is a way to clear the water out of the mask while exhaling out of your nose. Now, I have messed around and exhaled out of my regulator and caught the bubbles to clear me mask, but using your nose is easier. Why dose your nose have to be in a mask while scuba diving?
The main reason why your nose needs to be in your mask is to allow you to put air into the mask as you descend to equalize the pressure with that of the surrounding water, otherwise the squeeze effect would make the wearing of the mask uncomfortable. A mask is worn to enable one to see underwater. Why dose your nose have to be in a mask while scuba diving?
because as u r descending you have to clear your ears and in order 2 do so it needs to be covered. also, it makes it very difficult to breath through your mouth (through your regulator) if your nose isn't covered. There are many other reasons also though
It definitely has to do with breathing. Also, if there's an emergency, you're probably more likely to panic and try to breathe through your nose. You ingest water and it's a terrible feeling (trust me, I've done it).
Not a scuba diver but I think it has something to do with breathing.
to keep you from inhaling water
so you won't breath in water
