Mask:How to make the paper mache glue with flour, water and salt?and how long does it take for it to dry?

i have to do this mask for school that's due Wednesday, so i will do a paper mache mask, but how do you do the glue, that its made with flour water and salt? and how long does it take for the whole thing to dry?

there was this recepie :

Mix one part flour with 5 parts water. Bring to a boil on the stovetop and simmer for 3 minutes. Add a tablespoon or two of salt to help prevent mold. You will have consistency like thick glue. Let cool and pour into a plastic left-over container.

BUT, what does the one part flour and the 5 part water means?????

im so confused!!!

Mask:How to make the paper mache glue with flour, water and salt?and how long does it take for it to dry?
1 cup of flour to 5 cups of water.you could just use wall paper pasteMask:How to make the paper mache glue with flour, water and salt?and how long does it take for it to dry?
one part flour and 5 parts water means 1/6 of the paste is flour and 5/6 of the paste is water. So you could do, 1 oz. flour 5 oz. water, or you could do, 1 cup flour, 5 cups water, ect. and it usually takes 24-48 hours to dry
