Scuba diving mask?

How should i store my scuba diving mask? It is transparent and made out of silicon. I don't dive frequently - i.e won't use use the mask during long periods (more than one year). Is there a way to avoid it becoming yellow and the silicone getting too much ';elastic';?

Just put it in a box in the closet I guess. Sun is probably the enemy. Don't hang it from the strap either.Scuba diving mask?
UV light causes the yellowing effect; therefore, store it somewhere not in the sun light.

Also, if you use it that infrequently, make sure you store it in a manner that doesn't fold the skirt of the mask. You don't it to be deformed the next time you use it.

If you use it in salt water, make sure you give it a good cleaning (warm water and mild soap) before you store it. You don't want salt crystals to form on the lens and then rub against something.
The best way is to clean it thoroughly, dry it thoroughly, put it in the box (if you have one) and store it in the dark (away from UV light).
Rinse it with fresh water, leave it to dry (away from the direct sunlight) and put it in its box. You should get it out from the box from time to time to make it breathe !!!!
All of the above AND

Don't store it with any other gear like fins that may be black or another color. Clear silicone will absorb colors from your other gear.
