Science project, any answers gladly appreciated. How do you make a working landing pad for an egg out of 10 sheets of paper, and masking tape?
Boil the egg first, or freeze it! on a serious note if you fold the paper back and forth like an ';accordian'; it strengthens the paper, ive seen empty pint glasses sit on another pint glass supported by just a 鈧? note folded this way. Simplified here. \/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\. Criss cross these layers so the first layer is crossed across the previous sheet. /\/\/\/\/\/\ %26lt;%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;%26lt;%26lt; These layers will take the impact of the falling egg and act as a shock absorber. Perhaps one or two sheets could be used as sides so as to prevent the egg rolling off after impact. I am presuming the landing pad is attached to the ground and the egg dropped from a height? You need to create a structure that will crumble slightly, to soften the landing. Hope this helps. How do you make a working landing pad for an egg out of 10 sheets of paper, and masking tape?
I would say put one sheet on the ground like a base. Then roll six sheets into cylinders, reinforced by tape, and tape them in place along the border of the base sheet. The remaining 3 sheets of paper should hang, evenly spaced, from the columns. Each sheet should have a little bit of slack. If you can use the tape to reinforce the edges of each sheet, then do it.
